Special Mumbai Local Trains For Ganpati Visarjan (2023)
Ganpati Visarjan is the immersion of the idols of Lord Ganesha in the sea or other water bodies. It is the final day of the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which is celebrated all over India, but especially in Mumbai. On this day, devotees take to the streets in large processions to immerse the idols in the water, bidding farewell to their beloved Lord Ganesha.

Ganpati Visarjan is a time of great celebration and joy. The streets are filled with music and dance, and the air is filled with the aroma of incense and flowers. Devotees sing and chant as they carry the idols to the immersion sites.
This year, the Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) have come forward to offer special local train services, ensuring devotees can travel to and from the visarjan sites conveniently and securely.
Special Trains by Central Railways
On the midnight of September 28/29, 2023, Central Railway will run 10 special suburban trains between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Kalyan / Thane / Belapur stations. These trains will make stops at all stations along the way.
Special Trains by Western Railways
And Western Railways will also run four pairs of special trains connecting Churchgate and Virar stations. These trains will also make stops at all stations.

Tips for Traveling on the Special Trains
