In a significant move to enhance the railway infrastructure in Mumbai, the Western Railway (WR) is set to commence work on the 6th line between Goregaon and Kandivali. • Impact: Approximately 150 suburban cancellations, 60 short-terminations, and delays of 50-60 minutes.
2. Second Mega Block:
• Date: September 7–8, 2024
• Duration: 10 hours
• Impact: Similar to the first block with approximately 150 suburban cancellations and delays.
3. Third Mega Block:
• Date: September 21 - 22, 2024
• Duration: 10 hours
• Impact: Increased disruptions with 180 suburban cancellations and delays.
4. Fourth Mega Block:
• Date: September 28 - 29, 2024
• Duration: 10 hours
• Impact: Up to 200 suburban cancellations and extended delays.
5. Fifth Mega Block:
• Date: October 5 - 6, 2024
• Duration: 10 hours
• Impact: 100 suburban cancellations and delays of 60-70 minutes.

During these mega blocks, approximately 20-22 long-distance trains will also experience delays of 15-20 minutes. Additionally, from September 28-29, non-interlocking work will be carried out on the 5th line between Goregaon and Kandivali, causing further delays for trains originating from Bandra Terminus.
